Tom Wesselmann
Born in 1931 in Cincinnati (USA), Tom Wesselmann studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and at the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture in New York. The multi-talented artist started with Expressionism, then experimented with abstract collages, and finally changed to painting objects, landscapes, and female bodies. Tom Wesselmann became quite famous for his "Great American Nudes" series during the sixties. His work also includes metal works, cut-out drawings, and 3-D paintings. Tom Wesselmann died in New York in December 2004.
